![]() ![]() When I punch in the serial number for my American Standard it says "Made at the Fender Corona Plant" within this year range. ![]() The reality of serial numbers are that there's only so much they'll tell you. Your guitar's serial number is not part of your personal information. Be as private with your personal info as you sit fit, there's nothing wrong with that. What other people do is out of your control. What will happen to them if you are the kind person who will do something sketchy with their phone number? What's the limit on that?Įither you decide to deal with the public or you don't. What will happen to you if they do something sketchy with your guitar's serial number? Nothing. In your situation with the buyer asking for the serial number & you asking for their phone number, they are at more risk than you & they are more justified in their being cautious. I never demand someone's phone number, but I offer my number if it will facilitate communication. ![]() If a potential buyer asks for it I have no issue providing. I typically don't take a close up of the serial number but also don't hide it. ![]()
